In March, EastFruit reported on the formation of green apricot fruits in the orchards of the southernmost administrative-territorial unit of Uzbekistan – in the Termez district of the Surkhandarya region. About a month later, exports of apricots of the new crop from this region started.

According to the press service of the administration of the Termez district of the Surkhandarba region, early varieties of apricots such as “Pricia”, “Rubista” and “Mikado” have ripened in the apricot orchards of SPN Humoagro LLC with a total area of 58 hectares. Currently, about 10 tonnes of apricots are harvested daily on these plantations, which are sent to both domestic and foreign markets.

According to EastFruit analysts, this year the export season for fresh apricots from Uzbekistan started in mid-April, about ten days earlier than last year. As of April 20, 2023, over 80 tonnes of new crop apricots have already been exported.

We remind you that EastFruit wrote about the rapid fall in prices for a new crop of apricots in metropolitan supermarkets. This new product became available in the supermarkets of the capital of Uzbekistan on April 11 at an average retail price of 115 000 UZS/kg ($10.1) and in just a week, prices fell to 35 000 UZS/kg ($3.1) – by 3,3 times.
