Uzbekistan has the cheapest mandarins in the EastFruit region

EastFruit analysts draw attention to the fact that the average wholesale price for mandarins in Uzbekistan is the lowest among countries where the international project team monitors wholesale prices for fruits and vegetables on a weekly basis.

According to EastFruit price monitoring, prices for mandarins in Uzbekistan were stable from the beginning of January to mid-February 2023 – the average wholesale price was 12 000 UZS/kg ($1.06), and only in the second half of February it increased by 8.3%.

As of March 3, 2023, the average wholesale price for mandarins in Uzbekistan is 13 000 UZS/kg ($1.14), which is 18% more than on the same date last year and equals the level on the same date in 2021.

Despite the price increase in the second half of February 2023, the average wholesale price for mandarins in Uzbekistan is the lowest among the countries of the region, where EastFruit monitors wholesale prices for fruits and vegetables weekly.

We remind you that in November 2022, Uzbekistan once again extended the zero rate on imports of citrus fruits and bananas.

A month ago, EastFruit wrote that Uzbekistan imported a record volume of mandarins in 2022 – the volume of imports in physical terms reached 63 600 tonnes, which is 1.8 times more than in 2021.
