In Ukraine, the first shipments of early locally grown cabbage have become available for sale. According to analysts from the EastFruit, these initial quantities consist of young white cabbage and have recently entered the Ukrainian market. This year, the start of the early cabbage season coincided with the same timeframe as last year, thanks in part to a mild winter and favorable spring weather.
As of today, the 2024 harvest of white cabbage is being sold at a price range of 20-25 UAH per kilogram (approximately $0.51-0.63 per kilogram). This represents an average reduction of 40% compared to last year’s initial batches of the same product.

Additionally, imported young cabbage from North Macedonia is also present in the Ukrainian market. The price of newly harvested imported cabbage has rapidly declined due to the arrival of the first batches of locally produced cabbage. Currently, North Macedonian produced cabbage is offered for sale at an average price of 25 UAH per kilogram (approximately $0.23 per kilogram), aligning with the price range of locally grown produce.
