Price for cucumbers in Uzbekistan have more than doubled in one month

Over the past month, a steadily growing trend has been observed in the dynamics of wholesale prices for smooth short cucumbers in Uzbekistan, prices have increased by 2.3 times. Moreover, current wholesale prices are 1.8 times higher than last year’s levels, EastFruit analysts say .

According to  EastFruit monitoring , since the beginning of the summer of this year, the minimum wholesale prices for smooth short cucumber in Uzbekistan were recorded on July 22, 2022 at the level of 2,500 sum/kg ($0.23), and the average wholesale price was 3,000 sum/kg ($0.28). ), and a steady upward trend has formed since then. For the period from July 22 to August 26, 2022, the average wholesale prices increased from 3,000 to 7,000 sum/kg (from $0.28 to $0.64), i.e. in a little more than one month – 2.3 times.

It is noteworthy that on July 22 last year, the average wholesale price for smooth short cucumber was also at the level of 3,000 sum/kg ($0.28) and for the period from July 22 to August 26, 2021, the average wholesale prices increased to 4,000 sum/kg ($0. 38), i.e. by a third. However, the growth rate this year is far ahead of last year’s figure.

Thus, as of August 26, 2022, the average wholesale price for these products is 1.8 times higher than the level recorded on the same date last year.
