EastFruit analysts report that the active demand for white cabbage enabled the Ukrainian farmers to raise the prices of this product on the current week. The representatives of wholesale companies note the scarcity of cabbage on the market, which, along with the high activity of buyers, is the main driver of the price increase in this segment.
As a result, the Ukrainian producers are now selling white cabbage at 8-12 UAH/kg ($0.21-0.31/kg), which is 26% higher than a week ago.
The Ukrainian producers attribute the positive price trend mainly to the seasonal factor. In addition, the supply of substandard cabbage, which used to have a negative impact on the price level, has significantly decreased, which also supports the increase in the segment of white cabbage.

However, it is necessary to add that even after the increase, the current price of cabbage in Ukraine is still 33% lower than at the end of February 2023. At the same time, the experts do not exclude the possibility that the farmers will try to raise the prices further, as the stocks of quality white cabbage in the storages of local farms are dwindling.
