Cucumber prices collapse in Ukraine again

The trend of cucumber price reduction is still observed in the Ukrainian market, analysts of the EastFruit project report. Several factors force producers to reduce selling prices in this segment, but the main reason for this price trend is the very high supply of cucumbers on the market.

According to the daily monitoring of the project, today, Ukrainian greenhouses offer cucumber for sale at UAH 10-20/kg ($0.27-0.55/kg), which is, on average, 33% cheaper than at the end of last week.

According to the market players, this week, cucumbers from summer greenhouses and open-field were sold at lower prices than the primary announced prices by representatives of greenhouse plants. In addition, the cucumber trade was inactive. Under the circumstances, sellers decided to revise prices for cucumbers downward to avoid accumulating unsold products in warehouses.
