Carrot prices climb as Ukrainian farmers near end of season sales

Recent data from EastFruit’s daily monitoring indicates a trend among Ukrainian farmers to elevate carrot prices this week. The consensus among experts is that this uptick is largely attributable to the winding down of sales by numerous local agricultural enterprises.

Presently, carrot prices are being quoted between 7-12 UAH/kg ($0.18-0.31/kg), marking an average increase of 24% compared to the previous week’s close. This surge in pricing is largely explained by a seasonal dip in availability, particularly of premium-grade carrots, coupled with a spike in demand from domestic wholesalers and retail networks. Despite this upward trend, it’s noteworthy that carrot prices in Ukraine remain substantially lower—by about 70%—compared to the same timeframe last year.
