Rising carrot prices in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the prices of quality carrots are on the rise as increased trading activity stimulates the market, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. As producers report, both wholesale companies, which are stocking carrots for storage, and the general public, which is creating winter reserves, are actively purchasing this root vegetable. Additionally, sales to retail networks remain fairly stable.

Currently, farmers in key production regions are selling quality carrots at 18-25 UAH/kg ($0.16-0.22/kg), which is on average 12% higher than at the end of last week. However, industry experts highlight that the price growth trend is observed exclusively in the segment of high-quality carrots, bought for storage.

It should be noted that the current prices for quality carrots in Ukraine are already on average 3.3 times higher than during the same period last year. Some producers plan to continue raising carrot prices, provided that the current sales pace is maintained.
