According to analysts from the EastFruit project, there is a trend of rising prices for table beets on the Ukrainian market this week. Local producers report a reduction in stocks of market-quality beets, while demand from wholesale companies and retail chains for this product is growing.
As a result, producers are currently able to sell table beets at 14-18 UAH/kg ($0.33-0.43/kg), which is on average 24% more expensive than at the end of the previous workweek. Market participants attribute the price increase in this segment to noticeable supply reductions. As of today, sales of beets from unorganized storages are nearly complete, and the supply of substandard products has significantly decreased as well, allowing producers to raise prices for quality vegetables.

It is noteworthy that currently, beet prices in Ukraine are on average 35% higher than in the same period last year. However, market participants do not rule out that the upward price trend may be temporary. They believe that further price increases might motivate farmers to start selling beets from storage, leading to increased supply and, as a result, a price decrease in this segment.
