A large greenhouse complex has been built in the Fergana region (Uzbekistan)

In the Dangara district of the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan, a new modern greenhouse complex of ​​4 ha has been built. Hydroponics technology is used there for the production of tomatoes and cucumbers, i.e. cultivation without the use of soil, EastFruit experts report referring to the National News Agency of Uzbekistan.

The construction of the greenhouse complex owned by Ideal Mustang Plus LLC was completed at the end of 2021. The total cost of the project amounted to 27 billion UZS ($2.5 million). The planned annual volume of production in the complex is 600 tonnes of tomatoes and 200 tonnes of cucumbers. Currently, greenhouses are preparing for the first harvest of tomatoes.

According to Uza.uz, greenhouses with a total area of ​​251 ha were built in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021. As of the end of 2021, the total area of ​​greenhouses in the region reached 311 ha, of which 84 ha are greenhouses using hydroponic technology.

Thus, from the beginning of 2017 to the end of 2021, the total area of ​​greenhouses in the Fergana region increased from 60 to 311 ha, i.e. 5.2 times.

We remind you that 398 modern greenhouses with a total area of ​​797 ha were built in Uzbekistan in 2021, and the total investment in their construction amounted to 2.3 trillion UZS ($212.4 million).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of the end of 2021, the total area of ​​greenhouses in Uzbekistan amounted to 5 500 ha.
