Gasol is Semillas Fitó’s latest innovation in the yellow bell pepper segment. According FreshPlaza, this season, the variety has already showcased its potential and a strong performance in the field.

“This is a yellow bell pepper variety for early plantings in Almería, with different transplanting dates recommended, depending on the area. In Dalias and Berja, it is recommended from mid-May to the first week of June; in the Levante area, from mid-June to the first week of July; and, lastly, in western Almería, it is recommended from June 25 to July 10.

The Gasol is also bringing a solution against powdery mildew to the yellow bell pepper market, with a plant that stands out for its excellent health throughout the entire cycle. Moreover, the plant is compact, with good foliage coverage and a strong root system.

“The fruits reach a very uniform G-GG caliber throughout the entire production cycle, with the setting happening even with high temperatures. The producers and marketers who have worked with the Gasol this past season report a high degree of satisfaction.”

For Semillas Fitó, investing in research and development of new varieties with the help of local producers is the best way to be able to offer varieties like the Gasol, which add value to the entire fruit and vegetable chain, from the producer to the consumer.
