Pear prices in Uzbekistan are significantly higher than in 2022 thanks to high exports

Wholesale prices for fresh pears in Uzbekistan have decreased by 13% during the past week. However, despite the decline, current wholesale prices are 25% higher than in 2022 at the same time. Moreover, since the beginning of July 2023, wholesale prices for these products have remained above 2022’s levels, EastFruit analysts note.

According to price monitoring, from August 11 to 18, 2023, the average wholesale price for a pear in Uzbekistan decreased from 23,000 to 20,000 sum/kg (from $1.9 to $1.66). For comparison, on the same date in 2022, the average wholesale price for pears was 16,000 UZS / kg.

However, despite relatively high prices, Uzbekistan has exported a record volume of pears since the beginning of this season. Actually, it is likely that good exports support the prices.
