Uzbekistan presents its products at the Chinese Expo Center

The trade pavilion of Uzbekistan was opened in the SCO Pearl International Expo Center in the Chinese city of Qingdao. Uzbek export products are presented in the trade pavilion – dried fruits, saffron, fruit juices, natural honey, confectionery, mineral water, handicrafts, and other products made in Uzbekistan, EastFruit experts note.

The opening ceremony of the trade pavilion of Uzbekistan was on February 17, 2023, attended by representatives of the administrations of Shandong province and Qingdao city, businesses, the regional department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, embassies of Central Asian countries in China and media, Dunyo news agency reports.

In addition to Uzbekistan, the complex houses pavilions of other SCO member states. The total area of the trade pavilion of Uzbekistan is 600 sq.m., and there is information on the modern development, history, and culture of Uzbekistan, tourism potential, and bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and China on the inner walls of the pavilion.

The total area of the EXPO Center, called “China – the pearl of the SCO pilot zone”, is 168 000 sq. m. The EXPO Center allows participants of the Belt and Road Initiative and SCO member states to hold exhibitions, product sales, conferences, and meetings free of charge.

“The pavilion of Uzbekistan in the Pilot Zone of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao will open up new opportunities for producers and exporters of our country. According to the plan, more than several million people will visit it every year, they will be able to look at the exhibited goods and buy them. The opening of the trade pavilion serves to increase the recognition of Uzbek products in China and increase their exports.

Together with our Embassy, it is planned to open similar trade pavilions in other cities in China. In addition, our country’s products are currently being sold through several e-platforms in China,” said Jamshid Sulaimanov, representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in China.

“Uzbek producers are actively entering the Chinese markets with their products. Many of their products can also be seen on our online trading platform. They find their customers, and sales volumes grow. Today I am glad to take part in the opening of the Trade Pavilion of Uzbekistan at the EXPO Center in Qingdao. This is where I got to know what’s new. Our company is ready to continue to work closely with Uzbekistan and promote Uzbek products in China,” Amy Lee, a representative of the Chinese online trading company Alibaba.com, says.
