Sanliurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly President Isa Kizildemir said that pistachios are a strategic product.

Explaining that pistachios, which are an important agricultural product for the farmers of the Southeast, especially Sanliurfa and Gaziantep, are a source of income for its producers, industrialists and exporters due to its high economic return, Kizildemir said:

“Since pistachio is a profitable agricultural product, our producers have started to give more importance to this plant in recent years. Many farmers have installed irrigation systems in their pistachio gardens and are producing in the light of scientific studies. Due to its economic return, the number of pistachio trees in Sanliurfa increases every year. When seasonal conditions are good, the amount of product our farmers buy increases. 2024 will be the ‘year of prosperity’ for pistachios. Hopefully, we believe that the high yield we will get from here will increase our export figures even further.”
