Vakhtang Gogaladze, a representative for Eximcrop, told Business Insider Georgia that another container of Kenyan avocados will arrive in Georgia in the first week of August.
“A container (24 tons) of avocados is on the way. It has been loaded in Kenya and will arrive via the Maersk line in the first week of August. The products will be stored in the avocado hub at the Tirifoni Fruits warehouse in Gori and sold through the Nikora chain,” says Vakhtang Gogoladze.
According to him, this is also a pilot project, the scale of which will gradually increase, and the re-export of avocados from Georgia to Uzbekistan will be carried out in the 2024 season, EastFruit reports.

A representative of Eximcrop said that the idea of creating an avocado hub in Georgia is justified. “Georgia has an attractive and strategically interesting place for business, as well as a light bureaucracy here, which gives us grounds for positive expectations,” says Vakhtang Gogaladze.
EastFruit wrote that the first Kenyan avocado logistics center opened in Gori in May.
