Quality issues lead to price drop in Ukrainian white cabbage market

White cabbage prices have fallen for Ukrainian farmers, analysts from the EastFruit report. They say that cabbage prices in Ukraine were steady for two weeks, but this week many producers had to lower their prices.

As a result, farmers are now selling good quality white cabbage for 8-12 UAH/kg ($0.21-0.32/kg), which is an average of 17% less than last week.

Market participants say that the main reason for the price drop was a decline in demand for white cabbage. Moreover, the quality of the cabbage on offer has worsened due to long-term storage, and farmers are ready to accept lower prices for large sales.

However, it is worth noting that, even with the price drop, the current price of white cabbage in Ukraine is still 33% higher than in early February 2023.
