In Ukraine cucumber prices continue to rise

According to daily monitoring data from the EastFruit project, prices for greenhouse cucumbers in the Ukrainian market have been rising for the second consecutive week. One of the reasons for this situation is the reduction in the supply of imported goods this week.

As of today, these vegetables are being sold at prices ranging from UAH 90-130 per kg ($2.15-3.11 per kg), depending on the quality and volume of the offered product, which is on average 13% more expensive than at the end of last week’s trading.

Despite the gradual increase in the supply of local cucumbers in the market, prices for this product are predominantly rising. Market participants noted that these trends are primarily due to the increased cost of imported products from Turkey and the limited supply from local greenhouse complexes. Imports remain quite irregular, allowing sellers to frequently revise their current prices upwards.

Furthermore, Ukrainian importers today manage to sell cucumbers at prices that are on average 10% higher than in the same period last year.
