In Ukraine carrot prices begin to rise again

This week, analysts from the EastFruit project reported that the prices for carrots in the Ukrainian market have begun to rise again. According to market participants, the increase in prices is due to the relatively high demand for quality carrots amid limited supply. Wholesale companies and retail chains are actively purchasing the product, while carrot stocks in storage facilities are rapidly depleting.

Today, farmers are making primary carrot sales at 25-33 UAH/kg ($0.59-0.78/kg), which is approximately 10% higher than at the end of the previous working week. Experts from the project attribute the upward price trend in the Ukrainian carrot market to the rapid reduction in supply from local farms. Many farmers have already fully sold their stocked produce, while most other large farms are shipping exclusively based on previously concluded contracts.

It’s worth noting that the rise in carrot prices is not being restrained by the significant volumes of Polish products available in the market. At the same time, sellers confirm that the demand for imported carrots remains quite high.
