According to analysts from EastFruit, the local greenhouse cucumber season in Ukraine is nearing its end. They highlight that the farmers have been able to raise prices for cucumbers almost daily as the season concludes.
Currently, growers are offering greenhouse cucumbers at prices ranging from 90 to 115 UAH/kg ($2.18-2.79/kg), depending on quality and batch size. This represents an average increase of 13% compared to the previous week.
Experts attribute the latest price hike to a significant reduction in the supply of cucumbers from local farms. Many farms have already announced the end of their season, while the remaining ones are only offering cucumbers in small batches. Meanwhile, the demand for cucumbers in Ukraine’s domestic market remains high, driving rapid price increases.

Additionally, under the current circumstances, greenhouse farms in Ukraine are managing to sell cucumbers at prices that are, on average, 57% higher than during the same period last year. Market players also believe that the possibility of further price increases in this segment is rather high.
