This week, the Ukrainian market has seen a trend of decreasing prices for greenhouse cucumbers, according to analysts from EastFruit. The recent price drop in this segment at the beginning of June is called traditional due to an increase in the market supply of cucumbers from summer greenhouses.
As of today, the main sales of cucumbers by Ukrainian greenhouse complexes are carried out at 20-45 UAH/kg ($0.50-1.12/kg), which is on average 22% cheaper than the previous week. Experts from the project believe the reason for the price reduction of this produce is the so-called seasonal factor, as the market began to see an increase in the supply of these vegetables from local farms.
Industry experts emphasize that cucumber prices could have dropped even more significantly if not for the reduced supply of this produce due to rainy weather in most of the country.

As a result, today’s cucumber prices in Ukraine have decreased by an average of 30% compared to the same period last year. Growers do not rule out a further price decline when cucumbers from open fields begin to enter the market en masse.
