Recent weather patterns have cast a shadow over cucumber supplies from Ukraine’s greenhouse complexes, as noted by EastFruit. The persistent overcast skies have led to a dip in market availability, prompting producers to adjust their wholesale pricing upward.
Presently, these complexes are prepared to dispatch cucumbers at a rate of 105-140 UAH/kg ($2.70-3.61/kg), a rate that reflects a variety and volume-dependent 15% hike from last week’s closing figures. This uptick in pricing can be attributed to a surge in demand amidst a tightening supply. The past week has seen a marked reduction in cucumber output due to the gloomy weather, even as market activity has seen a notable uptick.
