Carrot prices in Ukraine have been rising for several weeks, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. Experts attribute the price increase to the fact that many local producers have exhausted their stocks of quality root crops, whose harvest in 2024 was significantly affected by adverse weather conditions.
Currently, the price range for carrots is reported to be between 25-32 UAH/kg ($0.59-0.76/kg), depending on the quality and volume of the available batches, which is, on average, 10% higher than the previous week.
Market participants explain the latest price increase in this segment by the steady demand for quality carrots. Meanwhile, the supply of these root crops in the Ukrainian market has noticeably decreased this week. Many producers have already announced the end of the selling season for their remaining stock. Some farms are offering leftover batches for sale, or are holding off sales entirely, hoping to sell the vegetables closer to spring at higher prices.

It should be noted that, as of today, the price of carrots in Ukraine is already averaging 2.3 times higher than at the beginning of January 2024. Industry experts explain this price level by the reduced harvest of these products this season due to weather anomalies during the summer.
