According to EastFruit analysts, the harvest of everbearing raspberry varieties in Ukraine has started abnormally early.
“Typically, this berry begins to enter the market in mid-August, but in 2024, the season for all berries has shifted significantly, affecting the market situation,” says Andriy Yarmak, an economist in the investment department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
“Currently, everbearing raspberries are being offered on the fresh market at prices of 100-130 UAH per kg ($2.4-3.2 per kg). The quality of remontant raspberries is noticeably better than that of summer varieties,” reports Yulia Tymoshenko, head of the frozen fruit production project “Tiferet” (Moldova).

It is evident that in the near future, an increase in the supply of this type of raspberry on the market and a slight decrease in prices can be expected. Additionally, the demand for freezing this type of raspberry is expected to be very high, which will support prices at a high level.
Currently, the global raspberry market is characterized by insufficient supply amid high demand, which is driving up prices. Problems with the raspberry harvest in Serbia, the continued reduction of areas under this crop in Poland, and numerous issues faced by farmers and processors in Ukraine due to ongoing Russian terror against the country’s civilian infrastructure and a shortage of labor, are preventing the situation from normalizing.
