Uzbekistan and Malaysia identified new areas of cooperation in agro-industrial complex

Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with the Director of the Department of Bilateral Economic Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia Martini bint Muhammad Safai, Dunyo news agency reports.

The Ministry deals with the issues of agriculture, agritourism, veterinary services, fisheries, animal husbandry, research in industry development, and food security.

At the meeting, the Malaysian party was provided with detailed information on reforming agriculture in Uzbekistan, improving the public administration system, introducing market relations, strengthening the legal framework for relations between the producing entities, processing, and selling agricultural products, as well as investments in the industry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture in Uzbekistan, namely, the attraction of foreign experience in the field of floriculture and the supply of Uzbek agricultural products to Malaysia.

Agreements were reached on organizing an online meeting between representatives of the Malaysian National Farmers Association and Uzkimyoimpeks JSC on the supply of mineral fertilizers, as well as the presentation of commercial proposals to the Malaysian party to conclude specific export agreements with major traders and importers in Malaysia.
