Facilitating the export of apples of Moldovan origin to the Indian market, including the approval of phytosanitary requirements to complete the import approval procedure for this product per Indian law, was one of the main topics discussed by the Director General of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) Radu Musteati, who is on a working visit to India as part of a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea, MOLDPRES informs.
The delegation seeks to interest the Indian business environment in establishing partnerships with Moldovan producers and investing in Moldova’s fruit and vegetable processing activities.
ANSA Director Radu Musteata spoke about the efforts made by the country’s economic agents to bring Moldovan apples to the Indian market, including ensuring the mode of transporting the product over such long distances.
The parties agreed on further steps to launch the final trial export.
The first stage of the dialogue between Moldova and India took place on July 4 in an online format. As a result, the countries agreed on how to supply apples.
