Korzinka chain (Uzbekistan) launched an online supermarket and delivery service

At the end of June 2023, the largest retailer in Uzbekistan in terms of turnover, the Korzinka supermarket chain, announced the launch of its own online supermarket and delivery service under the new Korzinka Go brand, EastFruit experts report.

At the end of June 2023, the largest retailer in Uzbekistan in terms of turnover, the Korzinka supermarket chain, announced the launch of its own online supermarket and delivery service under the new Korzinka Go brand, EastFruit experts report.

Together with the new service, the company also announced the launch of two full-cycle dark stores. This format will be the first of its kind in Uzbekistan and is designed for 15,000 items of goods, which is the largest offer in the country in food and household goods.

Currently, the service is available only in the capital of Uzbekistan, but in the future, it is planned to launch it in other cities of the country, the company said in a press release.

For the first time, the opportunity to order products online from Korzinka supermarkets appeared in 2005, when the company changed its name to Korzinka.uz. It was the first online supermarket in Uzbekistan. In 2017, it was decided to transfer the service to the partner service Lebazar. In 2022, the retailer bought out this service company and began work on updating the entire business model.

“As a pioneer in the retail and online delivery market, we are pleased to introduce Korzinka Go to our customers. This is the result of a long journey, trial and error, and numerous experiments in the name of our main goal – to make food shopping convenient and enjoyable, adhering to our “better and better” principle, commented Zafar Khashimov, founder and chairman of the supervisory board of the Korzinka supermarket chain.

The service presents the entire range of food products and household goods of the Korzinka retail chain with fast delivery within two hours in all districts of the capital of Uzbekistan. The company’s research has shown that this is often faster than going to the market or the store. The application has a convenient catalog and a quick search service, allowing customers to place an order in a few clicks. After creating an order, customers can see the order processing process and then watch the delivery in real-time on the map. If there are problems, delivery is free; a poor-quality product can be returned.

All the loyalty program benefits in the form of cashback, monthly and quarterly retro bonuses apply to online orders.

The new service product uses artificial intelligence. Pictures of category sections in Korzinka Go were generated using the Midjourney program. Inventories and delivery routing are replaced based on algorithms with minimal human intervention.

The Korzinka supermarket chain was founded in 1996. Currently, this network has 115 stores in 11 regions of Uzbekistan in the format of Korzinka supermarkets, Smart convenience stores, Korzinka Diskont discounters, and Korzinka Biznes B2B wholesalers, as well as the Korzinka Go online supermarket with two dark stores.
