Kazakhstan and Russia are main importers of Uzbek apples and lemons

Over the past 10 months of 2020, approximately 17,900 tons of apples worth almost $8 million were exported from Uzbekistan under the customs regime.

According to the State Customs Committee, 41% of the total amount of apples was exported from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan and 30% from Uzbekistan to Russia.

Also this year, apple exports to Tajikistan increased 2.3 times, to the United Arab Emirates 2.2 times and to Russia 1.2 times.

This year, for the first time, apples were exported from Uzbekistan to Belarus, Mongolia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.

Kazakhstan and Russia are the main importers of Uzbek lemons as well.

From January to October 2020, Uzbekistan exported almost 6000 tons of lemons worth $7.2 million. The volume of lemon exports is 72% higher than in the same period last year.

According to the State Customs Committee, 45% of the total amount of lemons was exported from Uzbekistan to Russia and 24% to Kazakhstan.

Also this year, the export of lemons to Afghanistan increased 3.6 times, to Ukraine 3.3 times, and Uzbekistan exported lemons to Poland and Tajikistan for the first time.
