For nine months of 2020, cherries and sweet cherries for $ 224 million and tomatoes for $ 226 million were exported from Turkey.
The main export goods of Turkey in January-September 2020 were cherries and sweet cherries among fruit crops and tomatoes among vegetables.
As reported by the Anadolu agency with reference to the Union for the Mediterranean, the export of fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey in January-September 2019 amounted to $ 1 billion 354 million, while for the same period of this year this figure increased to $ 1 billion 690 million.
Turkey’s income from the sale of fruits in January-September of this year amounted to $ 835 million 539 thousand, from the sale of vegetables – $ 469 million 166 thousand, citrus – $ 373 million 863 thousand and tea – $ 12 million 182 thousand.
Sweet cherries and tomatoes became the most demanded goods in Turkish export of vegetables and fruits during this period. Export of sweet cherries from Turkey in January-September 2020 amounted to $ 224 million, and export of tomatoes – $ 226 million.
Germany occupies a leading position in the export of Turkish sweet cherries in January-September this year. Turkey exported products worth $ 91 million to this country over the specified period. Russia became the leading importer of Turkish tomatoes, where products worth $ 51 million were exported.
