According to analysts of the EastFruit project, Ukrainian farmers have started to gradually increase prices for last year’s white cabbage since the beginning of the current week. Producers attribute this trend to a seasonal decline in supply amid strengthening demand.
At present, the availability of white cabbage from the 2025 harvest on the market has significantly decreased, while demand for this product has slightly intensified. Under these conditions, farmers who still have sufficient stocks of vegetables have begun to revise their selling prices upwards.
As a result, last year’s white cabbage is currently sold on the Ukrainian market at UAH 4–10 per kg ($0.09–0.23/kg), which is on average 25% higher than at the end of the previous working week.
At the same time, cabbage prices in Ukraine remain 85% lower than at the same time last year. Market participants do not rule out further price increases, as stocks of white cabbage from the 2025 crop are rapidly shrinking.
