This week, the first batches of locally grown greenhouse tomatoes entered the Ukrainian market, but this did not halt the ongoing price increase, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. It is noted that in 2025, Ukrainian greenhouse farms delivered their first tomato batches to the market about one and a half weeks later than this season. Meanwhile, current harvest volumes remain limited due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The first batches of greenhouse tomatoes from Ukrainian producers are currently offered at 150–170 UAH/kg ($3.43–3.88/kg), which is on average 66% higher than the first batches sold last year. According to market participants, truly large volumes of tomatoes are expected no sooner than in two weeks.

At the same time, the main supply on the Ukrainian market still consists of imported tomatoes from Turkey. Market players report that Turkish tomatoes are priced somewhat lower than local greenhouse products. Prices for imported tomatoes range between 130–150 UAH/kg ($2.97–3.43/kg) depending on quality and shipment volumes.
