At the beginning of April, the Ukrainian white cabbage market saw another wave of price declines, according to analysts at EastFruit. The main reason for the drop in prices is the deteriorating quality of the product caused by long-term storage.
According to the project’s daily monitoring, white cabbage in Ukrainian farms fell in price by an average of 21% over the past weekend alone. Currently, most sales transactions take place at 3–9 UAH/kg ($0.07–0.20/kg).
Market participants attribute the downward trend to the rapid deterioration of cabbage quality due to prolonged storage. At the same time, demand continues to fall, which adds further pressure on prices.

It is worth noting that current cabbage prices in Ukraine are already 84% lower on average than a year ago. In early April 2025, the product was sold at 35–42 UAH/kg ($0.80–0.96/kg). Analysts do not rule out further price declines as the quality of stored vegetables continues to worsen.
