Prices for locally grown tomatoes start to decline in Ukraine

This week, prices for greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine have declined noticeably, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Market participants attribute this trend to a seasonal increase in supplies from local greenhouses, while demand for the product remains restrained.

Under these conditions, producers were forced to revise their selling prices downward. Currently, the main sales of locally grown tomatoes are conducted within the range of UAH 140–170 per kg ($3.19–3.87/kg), which is on average 13% lower than at the end of the previous working week.

Imported greenhouse tomatoes from Turkey continue to be present on the Ukrainian market as well. Although the supply of this product remains limited, weaker overall demand has forced sellers to make concessions to buyers and also reduce prices for Turkish tomatoes. By the end of the working week, the main sales in this segment were carried out at prices starting from UAH 100 per kg ($2.28/kg).

At present, locally grown tomatoes in Ukraine are still sold at prices around 60% higher than at the end of April 2025. At the same time, most market operators believe that the downward price trend in this segment will continue into the coming week.
