According to analysts from the EastFruit project, the downward trend in prices for early white cabbage continues on the Ukrainian market. The primary reasons for the negative price adjustments in this segment, as reported by producers, are the seasonal increase in the supply of new harvest vegetables and relatively low consumer demand for this product.
As of today, early cabbage from the 2025 harvest is being offered at prices ranging from 24 to 32 UAH/kg ($0.58–0.77/kg), which is on average 20% cheaper than at the end of last workweek.
First and foremost, farmers are being forced to actively lower prices due to market oversupply: most Ukrainian farms have already started large-scale shipments of early cabbage. Additionally, the situation is being exacerbated by rather low sales volumes. Wholesale companies and retail chains prefer to purchase in small batches, taking into account the relatively short shelf life of this vegetable.

At the same time, the price of new season cabbage in Ukraine is currently, on average, 3.6 times higher than during the same period last year.
