This week, the Ukrainian market is seeing another decrease in wholesale potato prices, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. Experts note that the price drop is driven by relatively low trading activity in the segment, while market supply has grown significantly as farms started selling off their stocks with the onset of warmer weather.

As of today, Ukrainian producers are offering potatoes at 5–11 UAH/kg ($0.11–0.25/kg), which is on average 15% cheaper than at the end of the previous working week. According to producers themselves, the main factor pushing prices down is the sharp increase in the volume of substandard potatoes on the market. Farmers are actively selling potatoes from non-equipped storage facilities, where product quality has been deteriorating rapidly due to warmer temperatures.
It is worth noting that potato prices in Ukraine are currently, on average, 62% lower than at the end of March 2025. More detailed information on the potato market and other fruit and vegetable products in Ukraine can be found on the EastFruit website.
