The upward price trend for last year’s carrots continues in Ukraine, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Experts attribute the positive price dynamics to the seasonal depletion of high-quality stocks in farms. Market participants report that wholesale companies are increasingly facing difficulties in sourcing the required volumes of high-quality carrots.
At present, producers are already able to sell last year’s carrots at UAH 17–25/kg ($0.38–0.56/kg), which is on average 27% higher than at the end of the previous working week. For comparison, just a week ago prices in this segment did not exceed UAH 20/kg ($0.45/kg).

According to farmers, trading activity in the root vegetable market in Ukraine has slightly intensified. Against the backdrop of seasonal stock reductions in local farms, this has resulted in a shortage of high-quality carrots on the market. Under these conditions, producers have been able to raise their selling prices again.

However, it should be noted that despite the increase, prices for these vegetables in Ukraine still remain below last season’s levels. At the end of May 2025, Ukrainian farmers were shipping this product at prices that were on average 84% higher than current levels.
