Prices for last season’s white cabbage have started to rise in Ukraine this week, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. The upward price trend is driven by a rapid decline in the supply of 2025-harvest vegetables due to seasonal factors. At the same time, demand in this segment remains relatively strong, allowing farmers to raise their selling prices.
Currently, Ukrainian producers offer last season’s white cabbage at prices ranging from UAH 8 to 15 per kilogram ($0.18–0.34/kg), which is on average 75% higher than a week earlier.
Market participants explain the current price increase by a shortage of supply, as most Ukrainian producers have already completed their sales season. The remaining farmers are offering only residual volumes of white cabbage from the 2025 harvest.

Despite the recent price growth, white cabbage prices in Ukraine are still on average 77% lower than at the beginning of May last year. At the same time, many market players do not rule out that the upward price trend may continue, as supply continues to decrease rapidly.
