This week, Ukraine is seeing another decrease in carrot prices, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. In particular, the market has experienced a noticeable increase in the supply of carrots from local farms, which has resulted in a general decline in consumer demand and negatively affected sales dynamics in this segment.
As of today, carrots from local producers are being sold at 5–11 UAH/kg ($0.11–0.25/kg), which is on average 12% cheaper than a week earlier.

According to market participants, the downward price trend is primarily driven by the abundant supply of products, while demand for root vegetables remains relatively low. With the onset of warmer weather, most farms have started actively selling off their remaining stocks. At the same time, the market continues to see a significant supply of substandard carrots, which also puts pressure on prices for higher-quality products.
It is worth noting that carrot prices in Ukraine are currently 72% lower on average than in mid‑March last year. Producers also state that if the market situation does not improve in the near future, they will be ready to further reduce prices for these root vegetables in order to maintain sales volumes.
