A sharp decline in prices for greenhouse cucumbers has been recorded on the domestic Ukrainian market. According to the daily monitoring data of the EastFruit project, growing harvest volumes at Ukrainian greenhouse enterprises amid persistently restrained demand are the key factors driving the negative price trend in this segment.
At the same time, major greenhouse producers report substantial stocks of cucumbers remaining in storage, as the average weekly harvesting volumes continue to increase. In order to avoid the accumulation of unsold produce, farmers are being forced to reduce their selling prices.

As of today, greenhouse cucumbers are sold by producers at prices not exceeding UAH 90–145 per kg ($2.07–3.33/kg), which is on average 21% lower than a week earlier.
It should also be noted that local cucumbers face strong competition from imported produce from Poland. Many importers currently still have significant stocks of Polish cucumbers accumulated last week, which has forced them to reduce prices to UAH 70 per kg ($1.61/kg).
