Carrot prices in Ukraine have been declining for six consecutive weeks

According to the regular price monitoring conducted by EastFruit, producers have been gradually lowering prices for 2026-harvest carrots for the past six weeks. At present, trading activity in Ukraine’s carrot market remains subdued, as farmers need to sell substantial volumes of medium-grade produce that is not suitable for long-term storage.

According to producers, retail chains and wholesale companies are reluctant to purchase large batches of carrots due to slow sales at the retail level. Under these conditions, farmers are forced to continuously reduce selling prices in an effort to accelerate sales.

Over the past week alone, carrot prices in Ukrainian farms have declined by an average of 10%. Today, in the country’s key production regions, carrots are offered for sale at UAH 9-15/kg ($0.20-0.34/kg).

Industry experts attribute the decline in carrot prices to the rapid increase in market supply. Another factor putting pressure on prices is the relatively weak demand in this segment.

It should be added that despite the current price decline, carrots in Ukraine still cost on average 32% more than during the same period last year. At the same time, key market participants do not rule out further price decreases if demand remains at the current level.
