Carrot prices in Ukraine have recorded another increase this week, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Farmers report a noticeable rise in trading activity in this segment, which, combined with a seasonal decline in stocks at local farms, has resulted in a shortage of high-quality root vegetables on the domestic market. Under these conditions, producers have gained the opportunity to further raise their selling prices.

Currently, farmers are able to sell last year’s carrots at UAH 13–20/kg ($0.29–0.45/kg), which is on average 34% higher than at the end of the previous working week.
Market participants attribute the latest increase in prices for the 2025 harvest to a significant intensification of demand from wholesale companies and retail chains. At the same time, stocks of high-quality carrots in local farms are already nearly exhausted, which is also supporting the continued upward price trend in this segment.

At the same time, despite the latest increase, carrot prices in Ukraine are still on average 56% lower than during the same period last year. Most key market players agree that the positive price trend will persist, although the pace of growth may no longer be as rapid.
