Carrot prices in Ukraine continue to decline

According to daily monitoring data from the EastFruit project, this week in segment roots vegetable has been marked by a decrease in carrot prices, driven by the start of active sales of stored stocks.

This week, Ukrainian farmers are offering carrots for sale at an average of 11% cheaper than the previous week. Volumes of this product entering the market are currently valued at 8–14 UAH/kg ($0.18–0.32/kg), with pricing largely determined by the quality and scale of the batches offered.

Producers say that the increase in supply of medium- and low-quality carrots is putting downward pressure on prices. By early spring 2026, the quality of these vegetables in storage had significantly deteriorated, forcing farmers to sell off existing stocks. At the same time, market participants note that owners of high-quality carrots who do not have storage issues prefer to suspend sales.

It is worth noting that carrot prices in Ukraine are currently on average 64% lower than at the beginning of March 2025. Moreover, most market players do not rule out the possibility of further stagnation in this segment, which is associated with relatively low trading activity at the moment.

More detailed information on the development of the carrot market and other fruit and vegetable products in Ukraine is available on the EastFruit website.
