Ukrainian farmers are concerned about the situation on the carrot market, as prices for these root vegetables have been declining for three consecutive weeks, according to analysts at the EastFruit project. Trading activity in the carrot market currently remains subdued, while farmers still need to sell substantial volumes of mid-season produce that is not suitable for long-term storage.

Under these conditions, producers are being forced to reduce their selling prices. Currently, carrots are being offered for sale at UAH 12-18/kg ($0.27-0.40/kg), which is on average 20% lower than at the end of the previous working week.
According to farmers, the root vegetable market has been experiencing a supply surplus in recent weeks. Sales are taking place only occasionally and mainly in small batches. Moreover, buyers often insist on lower prices, citing the abundant supply of carrots available on the market.

It should be noted that carrots in Ukraine are still selling at prices that are on average 46% higher than at the beginning of the autumn season of 2025. At the same time, farmers do not expect the situation to improve in the near future, as market supply remains excessive and demand is not strong enough to absorb the available volumes.
