According to daily monitoring data from EastFruit, most Ukrainian producers report a rapid deterioration in the quality of white cabbage from the 2025 harvest while in storage. Market participants say that Ukrainian farmers are currently rushing to sell off stocks of last year’s produce before early vegetables begin entering the market in large volumes, intensifying price pressure.
As of today, white cabbage is offered for sale at prices ranging from UAH 2 to 8 per kg ($0.05–0.18/kg), which is on average 22% lower than a week earlier.
The price decline in this segment has been driven by a sharp drop in demand for vegetables due to the worsening quality of the product. In addition, prices are under pressure from significant volumes of imported new‑season produce, which are entering the Ukrainian domestic market in sufficient quantities.
It is worth noting that white cabbage in Ukraine is currently offered at prices that are on average 88% lower than a year ago. Project analysts suggest that prices for this product will begin to rise only after the complete sale of the remaining stocks of last year’s cabbage.
