Ukrainian producers are forced to reduce prices for available batches of tomatoes, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. According to daily monitoring data, the start of mass sales of this produce from summer greenhouses has led to a decrease in prices across almost the entire country.
Under these conditions, attempts by local greenhouse producers to maintain previous price levels were accompanied by slower sales, forcing them to introduce negative price adjustments.
As of today, large greenhouse complexes are ready to ship available batches of tomatoes at UAH 90–130/kg ($2.03–2.93/kg), which is on average 15% lower than at the end of last working week.

Analysts of the project describe this price decline in the tomato segment as a traditional seasonal phenomenon. It is worth noting that during the same period last year, these vegetables entered the Ukrainian market at prices that were on average 37% lower than today. At that time, the decline in prices for local tomatoes was more significant than it is now.
