Between April and June 2025, the volume of fresh apricot exports from Uzbekistan increased by 18% compared to the same period last year. According to EastFruit analysts, Uzbekistan could become the second-largest exporter of fresh apricots on the global market this season.
This year, shipments of the first major batches of fresh apricots to international markets began in late April. According to international trade statistics and the National Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan exported 54,100 tonnes of fresh apricots between April and June 2025. For comparison, during the same period in 2024, the country exported 46,000 tonnes.

Since 2018, Uzbekistan has consistently ranked among the top three global exporters of fresh apricots, with the exception of 2021 and 2022, when extreme weather severely damaged the country’s apricot harvest. In the years that followed, Uzbekistan regained its position in the global market. In both 2023 and 2024, it ranked third among the world’s leading fresh apricot-exporting countries, behind only Spain and Turkey, which held the first and second positions respectively.
However, due to a poor harvest in Turkey this season—caused by devastating spring frosts that also affected other stone fruits—Turkey’s fresh apricot export volumes are expected to fall significantly compared to the previous two years. Taking this into account, along with Uzbekistan’s export volumes in April–June 2025, EastFruit analysts conclude that Uzbekistan may become the world’s second-largest exporter of fresh apricots by the end of this season.
