Ukrainian Blueberry Prices Drop Sharply in Early July 2025

EastFruit analysts report a sharp decline in domestic wholesale prices for blueberries in Ukraine — a trend that aligns closely with earlier market forecasts. Notably, the price drop is most pronounced for low- and medium-quality berries, while premium-quality blueberries continue to maintain relatively high price levels.

As previously reported, the 2025 blueberry season in Ukraine began approximately one week later than usual, which initially contributed to elevated price levels at the end of June. However, by early July, wholesale prices have declined considerably across the country’s main markets.

As of July 1, 2025, small wholesale prices for blueberries were as follows:

  • Shuvar Market (Lviv): 300–450 UAH/kg (equivalent to €6.12–€9.18/kg)
  • Stolychnyi Market (Kyiv): 300–350 UAH/kg (€6.12–€7.14/kg)
  • Pochatok Market (Odesa region): 400–450 UAH/kg (€8.16–€9.18/kg)

Compared to the end of June 2025, the price drop is substantial, averaging 20–25%:

  • In Kyiv, prices fell from 450–500 UAH/kg (€9.22–€10.25/kg) to 300–350 UAH/kg (€6.12–€7.14/kg), a 28–30% decline.
  • In Lviv, the range shifted from 380–450 UAH/kg (€7.79–€9.22/kg) to 300–450 UAH/kg (€6.12–€9.18/kg), with the minimum price falling by 21%.
  • In Odesa, the upper price limit remained stable (450 UAH/kg), but the minimum dropped from 480 to 400 UAH/kg (€9.84 to €8.16), reflecting a 17% decrease.

On average, wholesale blueberry prices dropped by 15 to 30% within just 3 to 5 days, depending on the market and product quality.

According to analysts, prices are likely to continue declining rapidly to reach levels competitive with the EU market — a key consideration, as Ukraine remains one of the major exporters of fresh blueberries to the European Union.
