UK imports record volume of Egyptian table grapes

In 2025, Egypt significantly expanded its exports of table grapes to the United Kingdom, setting a new record, according to EastFruit.

Over the first 10 months of the year, the UK imported 37.3 thousand tons of Egyptian grapes worth more than 105 million US dollars. This volume exceeded the strong results of 2023 and 2024 by 24%, marking a new high for Egyptian grape shipments to the UK market.

Moreover, in 2025 the United Kingdom became the leading destination for Egyptian table grape exports, surpassing the Netherlands and Russia.

Since 2021, Egypt has ranked among the top three suppliers of grapes to the UK, behind only South Africa and Spain. In 2023-24, Egypt’s share of total UK grape imports stood at 11%. By the end of the first 10 months of 2025, that share had risen above 15%.

The UK imports grapes year-round, with monthly volumes ranging from 16 to 30 thousand tons. South African grapes dominate the market from January to March, followed by India and Chile in April-May. June is traditionally the peak month for Egyptian grapes, when their share exceeds 80%. Spain and Italy join Egypt in July, and from August to October their grapes take the lead. November and December are dominated by supplies from Peru and Brazil.

In 2025, a late start to the Spanish and Italian seasons allowed Egypt to dominate the UK market not only in June but also in July, exporting a record 15.7 thousand tons that month. These July shipments played a decisive role in boosting Egypt’s annual exports to the UK and setting a new record.

Egypt is also continuing to expand exports of cauliflower and broccoli to the United Kingdom.
