Trade mission of importers from Eastern Europe and Central Asia to Egypt

The EastFruit team is launching a selection process for fruit and vegetable importers and supermarket chain buyers from Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan for a free trip to the Food Africa exhibition in Cairo, Egypt, from December 3 to 5, 2024, which includes negotiations with the country’s top exporters.

Sponsored by the Egyptian government and supported by the FAO/EBRD project “ Food Security Package SEMED – Diversifying and adding value to export markets,” EastFruit will manage the candidate selection process for this event.

“This is a unique opportunity for those looking to diversify their fruit and vegetable procurement,” said Andriy Yarmak, project leader and economist at FAO’s Investment Department. “Egypt is already the leading supplier of fresh fruits, vegetables, and potatoes, and it is rapidly expanding its production and export volumes. Moreover, Egypt is among the global leaders in the growth of fruit and vegetable exports, offering significant opportunities for buyers to find profitable segments.”

The event will feature negotiations with exporters, visits to the largest food exhibition in North Africa, participation in an export conference, and tours of local enterprises that grow and export fruits and vegetables. EastFruit can select up to five participants from each country.

To apply, please complete the registration form. Applications are accepted until October 31, 2024, but registration may close earlier if five companies are selected before this date. Detailed information about the event can be tracked here.
