The Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association Joins the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association has officially become a member of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine (UCCI).

The Association believes this synergy will strengthen the development and global competitiveness of Ukrainian blueberry producers. CCI Ukraine maintains a network of 70 representative offices in 56 countries and has signed 174 international cooperation agreements with foreign partner organizations. It also serves as the founder and coordinator of 45 bilateral business councils. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association brings to the table a strong network of berry importers and buyers, as well as marketing expertise across both domestic and international markets.

Currently, the Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association unites 30 leading producers with a total plantation area of 1,200 hectares, offering stable partnerships and the highest quality throughout the entire value chain — from cultivation to international distribution.

This new membership in the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry opens up a wide range of practical benefits for Association members. These include support in strengthening their presence in both domestic and export markets, and assistance in navigating trade and economic operations.

“We joined the Chamber to formally declare the responsible business practices of Ukrainian blueberry producers,” said Nataliya Pukshyn, President of the Association.

“Our Association guarantees support and development for Ukrainian growers, and reliability and quality for international partners. Together with the Chamber, we aim to gain access to services critical for the berry sector — including certification, legal support, and more,” added Ivan Hrechkivskyi, Executive Director of the Association.

UCCI  offers a range of services, including:

• Legal and consulting support;

• Issuance of ATA Carnets;

• Certification of force majeure circumstances;

• Certification of goods and services.

“Just a few years ago, the Ukrainian market was flooded with imported blueberries. Over the past decade, the situation has changed drastically — local farms have mastered blueberry cultivation technologies, prices have dropped, and the berry has become more accessible to consumers. Moreover, our blueberries are of high quality and are now being exported globally. Two companies specializing in blueberry cultivation are already members of the Kyiv CCI. Today, we are pleased to welcome the newly formed Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association. The Chamber continues to support domestic producers, and we believe this membership will play an important role in advancing this vital sector,” stated Mykola Zasulskyi, President of the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association offers strong export potential, connecting global buyers with dynamic, reliable, and professional producers who supply consistent volumes of premium-quality blueberries — a crop that has already become one of Ukraine’s top horticultural export earners.

Blueberries have become the fastest-growing category of Ukraine’s fruit and vegetable exports, with an annual revenue increase estimated at 22–28%, according to EastFruit. Despite the challenges posed by war and economic instability, fresh blueberry exports grew by an average of 21% per year between 2019 and 2023, adding approximately 530 tonnes annually (with +1,100 tonnes in 2022 and +940 tonnes in 2023). This highlights the sector’s resilience and competitiveness on the global stage.

With fertile soils, a favorable climate, and growing technical expertise, Ukraine is well-positioned to become one of Europe’s leading blueberry exporters, potentially catching up with Poland by 2030.
