Registration for Global Fruit Latam Mexico is open

Global Fruit Latam Mexico, an international trade fair in virtual mode for fresh products from Latin America will take place on March 24, 25 and 26, 2021. 2021 will be the year of fruits and vegetables, so agriculture will become a central axis of economic development, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean. This region is home to fifty percent of global biodiversity and owns thirty percent of the earth’s arable soils.

The world will look towards this region, so companies, industries, food systems and the rural sector are already beginning to organize. The first edition of Global Fruit Latam Mexico is ready, on March 24, 25 and 26, 2021, through the Digital Virtual Center of OMA Media, with which it will reach all corners of the planet.

The agricultural sector in Latin America contributes approximately 4.8 percent of GDP at the regional level. It is the area with the greatest agricultural potential in the world and the largest exporter of food supplies. For this reason, in the Global Fruit Latam Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru and Panama will participate so far.

It will also offer guest pavilions from Africa, Asia, Oceania, Europe and North America. The Latin American region produces food for hundreds of millions of people. The event will feature the participation of global experts on different topics. Access to knowledge will be free for the public, in such a way that researchers, academics, students, specialists and the public will be able to attend forums, conferences and discussion tables.

Some of the more than twenty experts and global leaders participating in this fair include Manuel Otero, general director of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA); Juan Cortina Gallardo; Director of the National Agricultural Council of Mexico Andriy Yarmak, a specialist in fruits and vegetables at the FAO Trade and Investment Center; Beatriz Jacoste Lozano, director of KM Zero Food Innovation Hub in Spain; Ricardo Rozemberg, a researcher at the Ideas Center of the National University of San Martín in Argentina and international consultant; Gert Kema, Professor of Tropical Plant Pathology and Director of the Plant Pathology Laboratory at the University of Wageningen, The Netherlands and Lía Bijnsdorp, founder and CEO of United Producers of Mexico in the Netherlands.

In this way, Global Fruit Latam Mexico will connect the supply of agricultural products in Latin America with the demand of the global market; it will promote more and better business between the region and its commercial partners in the world; will promote the export of fresh products to the global market; It will promote good production practices, sustainability, social and environmental responsibility in the global market, in addition to sharing news, ideas, trends and innovations related to the future of the sector.
